Our Lewisia seeds. Lewisia cotyledon is a small evergreen rock garden perennial that flowers abundantly in spring and summer. It has produced delightful selections such as 'Elise Mix'. This variety forms rosettes of fleshy leaves from which numerous star-shaped flowers emerge, in a wide palette of pastel or vibrant tones. 'Elise Ruby Red' captivates with its ruby-red corollas, very decorative in pots, troughs, or between the stones of a dry-stone wall. With 'Galaxy' Mixed (Sunset strain), you get a mix of lewisias in warm tones, from yellow to orange-pink, ideal for brightening up rock gardens.

Lewisias appreciate rather cool climates and a very well-draining, stony or sandy soil, in non-scorching sun. Sowing is done on the surface, in a seed tray or deep pot filled with a light substrate. The young plants are transplanted into their final position once well-rooted. Excess winter moisture, especially in heavy soil, remains the main cultivation difficulty.
