Very lovely flower, delicate and easy to maintain but... be careful: mealybugs also appreciate it. Easy treatment: 1/2 litre of clear water + 1ml of washing-up liquid + 1ml of alcohol; mix, spray, and you're done.

Description

This plant of the Ccommelinaceae family, native to Mexico, has flowers similar to those of Tradescantia. From the stump, long reddish branches emerge, bearing a beautiful light green foliage washed with light purple and speckled with dark purple. The flowers, with three petals, appear successively in the axils of the leaves along the stems. They are a light blue with a hint of mauve and create a striking contrast with the foliage.

Planting and care

Hardy on the coast, we still need to test its hardiness in our garden. This young plant is very beautiful, planted on top of a wall, from where its long branches can gracefully cascade. It seems to have a preference for partial shade and a moist to wet, humus-rich soil.
