Planting and care

Alliums are easy to grow. Plant them preferably before the end of October so that they have time to establish themselves well. They fear moisture. Give them a sunny spot in well-drained soil. It will be content with rocky soil. Plant larger bulbs at a depth of 10 or 15cm (4 or 6in), spaced 15cm (6in) apart. Plant smaller bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4in), spaced 7cm (3in) apart. They are undemanding but do prefer poor soils.
